Canadian Results
Sat Oct 11, 2008 12:46PM
I've been trying to get results for some divisions in Canada most of the summer. I now have the results posted for Quebec, partial for Alberta, BC, Ontario North & South. The final points for BC, Alberta and Quebec are posted. I still do not have the final points for Ontario North or South from those division directors. I have tried without success to contact those directors but have not had any response from the Ontario area. I have Chuck Leone trying to get those results for me now hopefully he has some luck. In Ontario please email your director and ask them to please send the results that are missing so we can double check the points and open entries to those divisions for the International Finals. "Bill Nickoloau" <speedmetal13@rcprosites.com>, "Rick Endler" <endler@rcprosites.com>, "rick endler" <enlo16@hotmail.com>, "Matt Devries" <mattd@rcprosites.com>, . Maybe someone will get a response.
I appologize to the Canadian racers it is my feeling the Canadian Series would be best ran by Canadians. However after the problems getting results & points from some divisions this year it appears we will be looking for a better way to guarantee we get results for next year. We like to send out press releases about who won etc and without this info we can't do it which hurts the Canadian racer and track participating in the series.

BC Round 1
Wed Jun 4, 2008 2:07PM
Well May 29th was the first race for BC in the RC Pro Canada Series. The race was help in Coquitlam, BC at Kamikaze Raceway. We had a total of 60 entries, including the nitro classes for points, plus we had a heat of electric stadium trucks and a heat of electric 4wd mod. While we ran electrics as well, these were not for points and they provide a little break between the nitro heats for battery charging and such (and a few of us are just addicted to them and we wanted to run as well)… off to the stats and a review.
A quick rundown of the electric triple a mains. In 2wd trucks, Philip Battista took 1st in the first 2 mains to secure 1st overall. Bob Anderson placed 1st in the last main and with a 2nd place showing secured 2nd overall. Darin Eichorn scored a 2nd and 3rd to secure 3rd overall
In 4wd mod, Rob Sorjonen got 1st place in the 1st and 3rd mains to once again take first overall (someone needs to stop this unbeaten streak he has going). Marc Ilton scored a 1st and a 2nd place finish to lock up 2nd, and nearly dethroned Rob. Barry Wilson scored a 2nd and a 3rd to lock up 3rd.
In the Buggy C main Philip Battista took 1st, Eli 2nd and got the bump up to the B main. This gave Derek Johnson, who finished 3rd, the win for the C main.
In Monster Truck, Dan Morin owned it. He TQ’d, started 1st, and finished in 1st without ever giving up his position putting 3 laps on the closest competitor. Andy Ranquist put on a good showing to take 2nd and Peter Retallick placed 3rd to finish off the podium.
In the Buggy B main, Steven Proksa TQ’d for the pole position, but Marc Ilton ran a strong race and took the lead at the 5th lap and pretty much cruised to the victory from there with a clean run with 26 laps, taking 1st and getting the bump up to the A main. Philip Battista, bumped up from the C main, started 9th and drove like a madman to take 2nd placeand earn another bump up to put him in the A main. Steven took 3rd spot, and with the 2 bump ups, this gave him 1st place for the B main, with Mike M finishing 2nd and Dan Lewis taking 3rd. Philip, Steven, Mike and Dan all finished with 25 laps so it was really close. Ed had 24, Jag 23
The Arena Truck B main had Steven Proksa as TQ, but he could not start the main, so this put Fernando Ignacio on the pole. He fell back to 2nd until the 8th lap where Richard Phelps had mechanical trouble, then took 1st and held the spot until the finish earning him the 1st bump up to the A main. Richard Phelps, after getting back on the track battled his way back to 2nd place, and being on the same lap as Fernando took 2nd place and the 2nd bump up to the A main. This gave Greg Roberts 1st place, Roger Lambert 2nd place and Chis Chiu 3rd place.
Now on to the big guns. The A mains. First in Buggy, we had Richard Infanti taking TQ. Richard ran a clean race with few mistakes to take the victory finishing 1 lap up on the rest of the field with 54 laps. Rob Sorjonen pushed Richard all race, held 1st briefly but at 28th lap bobbled and let Richard by for the lap up and couldn’t make it back. Rob finished 2nd with 53 laps. Marc Ilton started 9th from the bump up, and ran a clean race picking his way through the pack to earn 3rd place with 51 laps.
The last race of the day was the Arena Truck A main. We had Darwin Wong as TQ though Richard Infanti jumped out to the early lead and looked like he was going to win this main as well until mechanical failure (blown dif) on the 49th lap, and oddly enough the same lap Derek Johnson had a flame out while running in 2nd place allowed Darwin to retake the lead. I was pitman for Derek and fought to get that motor started again and back out to run. The mains ended with Darwin taking 1st, Derek in 2nd and on the 50th lap Chris Sinilaid passed Richard to take 3rd place.
All the results are posted and the points will be up shortly. Thanks to all the racers that showed up and made this first race such a success. Also kudos to the gang at CAMRC and Kamikaze Raceway for hosting the event and doing a great job.
